1913 - A New Company is born Mr. Joseph Nagusky establishes The Federal Metal Company in Cleveland, Ohio, by vertically integrating
his peddler scrap non-ferrous metals operation into a brass ingot producer.

1960 - The Federal Metal Company Finds a New Home Anticipating future growth, Mark Nagusky,
Joseph's son, makes the decision to move The Federal Metal Company from its location in the heart of
Cleveland to Bedford, a suburb of Cleveland. This move allows Federal Metal to grow in the future.

1985 - David Nagusky becomes President David
Nagusky, Mark's son, becomes President and
guides Federal Metal toward continuous growth during a period of strongly declining industry sales.

1993 - New Furnaces Promise Better Quality
Federal Metal adds two 5,000 pound coreless induction furnaces which round out its capabilities to manufacture
virtually all brass and bronze alloys.

1993 – Invention of Federalloy
A.R. Singh invents the Federalloy group of bismuth copper lead free alloys. Singh was the first to develop a unique
process to distribute the bismuth uniformly in the alloy structure and defeat the brittleness issues that
plagued these alloys.

1995 – Learning What’s Important to Foundrymen
David Nagusky assumes the Presidency of Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society. In this position David learns first-hand
the greatest concerns of foundrymen. David’s experience with this extraordinary organization underscored the
importance of molding Federal Metal into a company that is highly responsive to individual company needs.

1995 – More than Sales…Solutions
Rik Kohn transfers from Federal Metal’s purchasing department to foundry sales, bringing with him a unique
and valuable set of qualifications and experiences. Today, as V.P. of Sales, Rik’s knowledge of scrap metals,
terminal markets, and utilization of foundry scrap has provided many Federal Metal customers with superior solutions
to their critical needs.

1997 – Honored for Innovation
A.R. Singh, V.P. of Metallurgy & Sales at Federal Metal receives EDI Innovation Award from Case Western Reserve
University for the invention of Federalloy. This award acknowledges and validates the genius of Singh’s invention.
During this time, Federal Metal can point to many brass foundries who were able to retain business as a result of having
a lead-free solution.

1997 – A Family Commitment from the Next Generation
In today’s business environment, foundries should seek out suppliers who they believe will have staying power. Peter Nagusky represents the fourth generation of the Nagusky family committed to making Federal Metal a superior supplier of critical products to the foundry industry. With a Masters degree in Business Administration, Peter currently manages the purchase of raw material.

1999 – On Time, All the Time
Mike Fekete comes to Federal Metal just for this reason: to schedule and manage production. In this capacity Mike is our and your “go-to” guy. Federal Metal recognizes that for foundry customers we must be available at all times for unusual requests. Mike works hard to satisfy and respond to foundrymen’s needs.

2002 – A Brighter Solution
The Federal Metal Company develops "fingot." This 100% metallic, inclusion free ingot sized product is widely
accepted by foundries as a superior product.

2003 – Operational and Metallurgical Expertise Extended to our Customers
Todd Kidder joins Federal Metal as Chief Metallurgist and V.P of
Manufacturing. With his BS in Metallurgical Engineering and MBA as
well as hands on foundry experience, Todd impacts the quality of our
product dramatically. He represents the company on CDA & AWWA
committees.

2004 – Federal Metal expands its Lead Free Capabilities
The Federal Metal Company purchases exclusive North American rights to the IMI Yorkshire patent. This investment gives
Federal Metal the capability to produce combinations of bismuth copper alloys, as well as an expanded number of accredited
alloys.

2005 – Federal Metal and its Commitment to Quality
The Federal Metal Company achieves ISO 9001:2000 registration. This achievement highlights Federal Metal's commitment
to quality for its customers.

2006 – Federal Metal's link to its customers
strengthened by hiring technical service expert
Mike Buyarski brings 25 years of foundry and ingot manufacturing
experience to Federal Metal and its customers. As V.P. of
Technical Service, Mike is hired to evaluate foundry practices as well
as respond to foundry customers needs. Mike represents the company
at ASTM and AFS, where he currently chairs the silicon brass and bronze
committee. |

2007 – Terri Kelsey delivers Federal Metal's range of services to
many more foundries
Terri has an extensive background in the wide variety of ways today's
forward thinking foundry needs to be treated and serviced. She
brings this experience and knowledge to create successful results for
Federal's customers. |
