About  >  Federalloy
Federalloy® meets the most demanding requirements

For end-use manufacturers and assemblers, Federalloy® properties are comparable to those in leaded alloys they're replacing with respect to:

  • Machinability*

  • Polishing and plating

  • Finish

*With machinability, keep in mind that speeds and feeds may need to be changed and flood cooling is recommended.

Considering lead-free products? Changing from leaded to lead-free is not as difficult as you think:

  • Same phos additions as leaded brass

  • Similar pour temperatures as leaded alloys

  • Shrinkage is in line with leaded alloys

  • Mold media is same as for leaded alloys (pour in green sand, permanent mold, no-bake sand, shell sand)
